SSH promts for password

Make sure the authorized_keys file is rw only for the owner. Having looser permissions on that file has bitten me many times with similar symptoms to yours. I have mine at mode 600.

NFS mounting fails at boot on 4.4

Sounds to me like your routes aren't getting set up by the time the nfs mounts are attempted, but when you try manually after boot the routes are already in place so the mounts work.

Re: Hardware RAID - CentOS 4.4 on Dell 1850

I have 10 IBM rack servers with hardware RAID1 that are happily running CentOS 4.4. After configuring the hardware RAID, it presents it to the OS as a single drive, sda IIRC. No software support needed (other than the kernel driver for the RAID controller, but that was automagic).

Re: Can not connect to Postfix...at all.

This one has bitten me before. By default, postfix is configured to listen only to the localhost interface 127.0.0.1. Look at /etc/postfix/main.cf and adjust "inet_interfaces". I set it like this: inet_interfaces = $myhostname, localhost That's why when you "telnet localhost 25" it will answer, but ...
