Re: Locking CentOS to a Specific Release

You can always subscribe to RHEL Extended Update Support (EUS). Very pricey.

The OP should be able to determine the Requires for the software and liberally apply exclude= as needed in yum.conf for those packages.

The only way the OP will know is to try it on a test system.

Re: Locking CentOS to a Specific Release

Scientific Linux might be one option for you. It has an option to remain at a point release for most package and to only receive security updates plus any other packages needed to support those updates. Scientific Linux FAQs: What about updates to older releases? Depending on which yum-conf is insta...

Re: ClamAV unable to resend mail

Use amavisd-release to release mail quarantined by amavisd.

Usage: $ amavisd-release mail_file [secret_id [alt_recip1 alt_recip2 ...]]
or to read request lines from stdin: $ amavisd-release -

EL7 uses grub2, not legacy grub.

RHEL Grub2

Fedora Grub2

GNU Grub2

Happy reading.

Re: Support For My NIC? (NVIDIA Corporation MCP73)

If you don't like that mirror, then pick another ELRepo mirror

Better yet, go to Get Started for EL7, install elrepo-release and let yum do the leg work.

(But that is rather hard to do without a network connection :D )

Re: Installation of CentOS 7.0 on KVM/libvirtd

You can use remote GUI access to run virt-manager on the server, such as FreeNX or x2go . The only "trick" is to open a GUI console on the remote server, "su -" to become root and then run virt-manager from command line. FreeNX and x2go tend to be easy on server resources. I almost never sit in fron...

Re: Installation of CentOS 7.0 on KVM/libvirtd

When the KVM setup ask for OS, select "Other" and you should then get EL7 as an option.

Have not tried centos 7 yet, but I have several RHEL 7 VMs running under EL6 KVM without issues.

Re: bacula cannot connect to storage daemon

I would not be surprised if nobody following this forum uses Bacula.

You should try the centos mail lists.

Personally, I use BackupPC.
