Re: Alternative to Dash to Dock

Hello not entirely sure I get what you mean, but if you enable "window list" in gnome-tweaks you'll have another bar/panel at the bottom of the screen with all the open programs like in the olden days, you'll have to have the panel at the top though as the window list bar can only go at the bottom, ...

Re: No sound on my Predator Helios 500 / Ryzen 7

start-pulseaudio-x11 Failure: Module initialization failed I'm guessing that's your problem there. Do you have pulseaudio-module-x11 installed, I would have thought this package comes with the centos iso unless you started off with a minimal install. Strange it says analog-output-headphones: Headph...

Re: No sound on my Predator Helios 500 / Ryzen 7

hmmm profile 0 is all hdmi, profile 1 is currently in use active profile: <output:analog-stereo> so I'm a bit baffled, you could try pactl set-card-profile 1 output:analog-stereo+input:analog-stereo pactl command is just the backend of pavucontrol where you say "speakers output is "unavailable" What...

Re: No sound on my Predator Helios 500 / Ryzen 7

Hello
Card 0 says
active profile: <off>
and all say "available: no"
Card 1 says
active profile: <output:analog-stereo>
If you're using hdmi, is it plugged in and speaker switched on ?
If it is you could try

Code: Select all

pactl set-card-profile 0 output:hdmi-stereo

Re: No audio in Google Meet/Hangouts

Hello sounds like a strange one, can they hear you ? It's been a while since I used google hangouts, is there a mute/volume button hidden somewhere. You can download pavucontrol-qt just to make sure something is not muted. I've also found some browsers play better than others, for example chrome can...

Re: What I need istall to offert [VOICE CHAT] from web?

I'm not 100% sure I get what you mean but you can just go here https://meet.jit.si/ and anyone who knows the name of your session can join, no login, voice and video chat, you can set everyone's camera to off if it's just voice required. You can also set a password to join. If you mean set up your o...

Re: Why are wireless drivers installed on machines with no wireless interface?

I used to wonder the same thing. Probably for convenience, and that whole lot takes up about 10Mb Also GNU/Linux can be installed on just about any computer and lets face it the linux kernel has got hundreds of modules/functions etc that my/your computer cannot use, you could probably halve the size...

Re: Dosbox Audio Problem

Hello no experience of dosbox I'm afraid but I generally find any problems with audio can be fixed playing with the settings in pavucontrol. It's available from the nux repo or pavucontrol-qt I think from epel. Also did you write/modify that conf file or is that the defaults MIXER:Got different valu...

Re: Webcam not working

Hello a quick test, try opening /dev/video0 with cheese, vlc, mplayer or mpv For mpv (and probably mplayer) you can run from cli but vlc needs to open media > open capture device, I have a built in webcam so not sure if a usb one is still in /dev/video0 Also my webcam uses "video for linux" v4l2, I ...
