[SOLVED] VDO Device Excluded by a filter

Just wanted to follow up with this posting. I had help from gluster team.. and oVirt teams to work through this... Summary: oVirt HCI wizard, may require, or sometimes on cleanup if failing for other reasons (such as SELINUX required, data on ANY drive in system besides OS drive.... etc..) .. you wi...

Re: NUT Network UPS Tools how to

Can you provide diagram. Just chuck something in paint or some quick ... host .. ip OS Cable That way we can see how all your devices you expect to be under the control plan of the UPS are connected. Just to state obvious, only one Linux (assumption here) system will be in direct communication with ...

Re: VDO Device Excluded by a filter

Note: the modification of /etc/lvm/lvm.conf was NOT the fix. I was able to create partition on drive, but after reboot and attempt to run HCI setup wizard it again failed with same error about lock. And sadly... I gave up beating head on where / what ansible did when I used the GUI to remove the mou...

Re: VDO Device Excluded by a filter

Found isses(s). Please note this is RH / Centos 8.. not 5-7... as their are differences. Ansible when it runs playbooks and then tries to back out is a bit like my kid cleaning his room. Gets distracted and forgets a few things... albeit important ones. # LVM Filter ... the local block data device s...

VDO Device Excluded by a filter

Trying still to use HCI setup of CentOS8 for cluster rebuild. Kept getting failures so trying to just focus on one node that is failing. ... other two can do single node deployment. Just using first 512GB SSD drive. So something about this node that is confusing things. (I also tested on the two 1TB...

Re: NUT Network UPS Tools how to

I will join you in a few weeks once I get my new UPS racked and setup. Serial only .. no SNMP card. Do you have model / connector for signaling that you can share. I set this up years ago for a small church and it was APC, USB cable, plug in.. and I had them setup with "Webmin" so they had a GUI to ...

This is defiantly some startup delay issue.. or timeout of a service . Only correlation I can think of is that two systems with delay I did a "next next next install and then post install corrected hostname / ip" vs one with snappy SSH right after reboot was setup of all host settings during install...

Thanks for response. Ya this is wierd. No mods to sshd. I did a diff and none on /etc/sshd/sshd_config same on /etc/hosts Diff I know is that the servers thor, medusa I did a minimal install where I set hostname and IP etc.. but this one "odin" It had that stupid USB speed issue and after farting ar...
