Re: Where does cockpit-pcp store its data

See man pmlogger_check. Its 23:00 here, so you'll need to do further searching yourself until I awake tomorrow!

Re: Where does cockpit-pcp store its data

Start with /etc/pcp.conf which contains the lines: # parent directory of PCP archive directories # Standard path: /var/log/pcp/pmlogger PCP_ARCHIVE_DIR=/var/log/pcp/pmlogger So now go to /var/log/pcp/pmlogger and look around, you should see a subdirectory named after your machine. Go there and look....

Re: KDE 5: How To Have Different Wallpapers, and Widgets, On Different Desktops

The top two candidates at this point are Rocky Linux 8.4 Stable, a bug-for-bug copy of RHEL 8.4 and the twin of CentOS 8.4, which will take over CentOS's role when RHEL 9.x is released and CentOS is no more.

Re: Installing Abaqus 2020 on CentOS 8

I've been having a look at the script that you posted. The first thing is that it could not generate the error messages you show. Next, if you have a look at the function checkDeps, about halfway down, it looks a bit odd. The function starts by looking for SuSE12, and if found prints a message and c...

Re: Installing Abaqus 2020 on CentOS 8

I've just checked my C8 VM:

Code: Select all

$ cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS Linux release 8.4.2105
- So the function isRedhat8 should word. I might have a bit of a dig through the script to see if I can spot anything for you after lunch.

Re: Installing Abaqus 2020 on CentOS 8

Are you aware that CentOS 8 goes EOL at the end of the year, in other words if you go ahead and sort this out you will be unsupported in just over 6 months time. CentOS 7 is supported until 2024 but other than that you need to consider RHEL, Alma Springdale or Rocky.

Re: Increase filesystem size

First, a general comment: Google is unreliable. Next another comment: Google tells you fibs. ... and finally: Never trust Google. The best place to go for information is the man page or else the Red Hat books. So Google tells you: xfs_growfs -L 200G /root does it. Hmm, if you do that you'll not see ...

Re: Increase filesystem size

You've extended the partition but not the filesystem. You need something like xfs_growfs or resize2fs.

Re: CentOS is dead, time to bury the corpse

As Trevor and Atifak say, C7 is not dead yet. It's now in maintenance mode only however so only expect security- and bug-fixes. Alternatives: Alma (RHEL rebuild) Rocky (ditto) Springdale (and again) Fedora (worth considering) OpenSuSE (different, but designed for big machines/servers as well as desk...
