[Updated] Multi Monitor setup broken after CentOS 7.5 upgrade - [AMD/ATI] display unclaimed

My system has a three monitor setup: 1. Monitor 1 connected to the onboard i915 chip 2. Monitor 2 & 3 connected to a Radeon RX 560 GPU This configuration worked until I upgraded CentOS to the 3.10.0-862.2.3.el7.x86_64 kernel. After the kernel upgrade only Monitor 1 (attached to the onboard i915 cont...

Re: CentOS 7 won't boot to GUI after kernel upgrade (CentOS Linux release 7.5.1804)

Resolved now. I just removed kf5-kdeclarative and re-ran yum update. Several hundred updates completed successfully and a restart booted normally into X.

CentOS 7 won't boot to GUI after kernel upgrade (CentOS Linux release 7.5.1804)

Hi all, I had to startx manually from a new console after booting. I've tried to rollback the updates but get "Failed to downgrade" errors: $ sudo yum history rollback 522 [..] Failed to downgrade: yum-plugin-fastestmirror-1.1.31-42.el7.noarch Skipping the running kernel: kernel-3.10.0-862.2.3.el7.x...

Re: Fatal error during GPU init - radeon (after kernel update)

As I no longer use this system for gaming I removed the Radeon 7990 and started using the Intel 3770K's ivy bridge graphics instead. I grabbed an active DisplayPort to HDMI converter to attach my second monitor, booted into new kernel and all is good. Display Info Vendor: Intel Open Source Technolog...

Fatal error during GPU init - radeon (after kernel update)

After upgrading to CentOS 7.4 I've lost dual monitor support and my monitors have reverted to duplicate the same display. When looking in the KDE Display Configuration there appears only one monitor. When I boot back into my old kernel the dual-monitor display works as expected. Relevant log excerpt...

Single clicks register as double-click - software click debounce in CentOS 7

I need a software click debouncer solution for CentOS. I'm getting intermittent, but frequent, double-clicks registered on single mouse clicks. The issue doesn't happen on Windows 10 as it seems Logitech (or Microsoft) compensate at the software level. Similar issues can be solved in Windows with a ...
