More research.... Some people in FreeBSD are seeing this problem. Well, it isn't really a problem, as the drive needs to be 'reconnected' or mtx hangs. In FreeBSD, the user puts the magazine back in and before any device command (mtx, etc), type: chio -f /dev/ch0 status -S This reconnects the device...

I wanted to make a program accessible from any directory so I googled and came across an article that said to edit ~/.bashrc so i added this line to /etc/bashrc export PATH=/usr/pathofmyexe Now I cannot log on, I boot to the prompt it takes my username and password then goes right back to the logon...

I have a SUN hp sl24 tapeloader with a lto4 drive. Centos sees it fine, lets me change tapes, write tapes, auto changes tapes in Bacula, etc, mtx loves it, everything is good except.....
