CentOS Alternative ‘AlmaLinux’ Beta Released for Testing

For a while I thought I caught the C-19 "bug" had ended my posting days. The lab results came back today: NEGATIVE!! More likely than not some type of allergy, as we eliminated everything else we could think of... still this sure is one hell of an allergy. Time to get out your BUG stomping / t...

Re: Springdale 8.3 and KDE

by desertcat This is addressed to those who use both Springdale Linux and KDE. Springdale Linux is on my short list of distros to consider. In some post I read that Springdale still uses KDE 4.x. What WONDERFUL NEWS, as I simply HATE KDE 5.x (I think it is now something like KDE 5.20 or 5.21) RHEL ...

This is NOT a regularly updated distro -- they have a total of 5 releases. PERIOD!! Could you explain whe...

Re: Startup Errors I'm trying to figure out.

No, SVM mode is for enabling virtualization. You are probably right but here is what I found: 1. Enable VT-d for Intel CPU If you have an Intel CPU, the IOMMU technology is called "Intel VT-d".If you have an AMD CPU, the IOMMU technology will be called IOMMU. If it is not already done, enable the S...

Re: Startup Errors I'm trying to figure out.

Is the AMD IOMMU turned on in your BIOS? Truthfully, I'm not sure. That was the first thing I went looking for but without success. The BIOS of TODAY is so much more complex than it was was 6 years ago when I built leopard. I do not even know where to FIND it, though I *know* it must be in there......
