[snip] CentOS 8 is also not working with Zen 3! I'm a gamer and also work so I always have a dual boot! After upgrading to Nvidia 3080 and AMD zen 3, I'm stuck with ubuntu which does not work properly for my needs!!! It's unbelievable CentOS 7 might not be supporting something like Zen 3 CPUs!!!!! ...

Re: Is CentOS 7 going to support Ryzen 5000 series CPUs?!

If the support is not there now then I have doubts that it ever will be. CentOS 7 has already transitioned into the phase of its life where RH no longer add new hardware support. Of course, if some massive customer who spends $$$$$ with them tells them that they want it then it might arrive but if ...

Re: How to format HD for UEFI boot - Centos 7.7

8 months down the road with my centos dell machine and a kernel update goes bad and screws the OS. After 48 hours of struggling, I decide to start again. I can confirm that for my Dell, the above method is the only solution that I found to work. But I have a couple of pieces of advice. 1. None of t...

Re: 7.9 is Out?!?

Thank you Trevor, I'll be patient. I do have good reason to use the Live version - namely to use transiently on other people's computers that normally run other systems (e.g. Windows) when not in a position to use my own machine. They wouldn't want me to install CentOS over their system. (No need t...

Re: An Old-timer Needs to Install CentOS 7

...... Therefore, I am seriously doubtful, as an "Old Timer," whether I should even try to change to CentOS 7 with any of the methods you have mentioned. This is not to argue against you. I appreciate everything all of you suggested. Rather, it is due to my being unable to perform these methods. It...

Is CentOS 8.3 Out or Due Soon?

After a lot of talk I have a long last started to build my next Workstation that will be based on the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, and the ASUS Prime X570-Pro Motherboard. This is a Piecemeal Build, but got the Motherboard in on Friday, and got it installed in the case last night. Hope to have it finished by ...

Re: TrickBot On Linux?!?

Irrelevant... [snip] Maybe; maybe not. IF -- I said IF -- I read this article correctly, Anchor_Linux sits on a Linux server to which Windows Machines maybe attached, and thereby being able to attack those Windows Machines. Hospitals seem to be be the weak link in security yet has maximum impact on...

TrickBot On Linux?!?

just came across this article about a NASTY bit of malware called TrickBot . By any other name it is Ransomware. It seems to have hit a lot of Hospitals right in the middle of this Global Pandemic. And, as I suspected, it targets WINDOWS. That said it seems it can now infect Linux Based systems. Li...
