As I understand it, the server owners need to fix that as it's an authorization issue.

Any chance you have multiple drives and the BIOS update switched the boot to the wrong drive? That would certainly explain the 'sudden disappearance' of your boot entries.

Result: Clonezilla worked, but the Windows boot got hosed somehow. A repair with the Windows DVD and several reboots fixed that problem.
