Re: Rescue a CentOS Linux System "Enhance screen display"
TervorH, yes I understand it's a rescue system and not meant to look pretty. I was just wondering if there was some way I could manipulate the screen dump. I actually use the rescue system to just mount the LiveOS image; so, I can do my own installation. Hence, why I wanted to change the look of the...

Rescue a CentOS Linux System "Enhance screen display"
CentOS 7 DVD image, when I Rescue a CentOS Linux system (shown in the image), the following screen dump is pretty messy. Is there anyway I can display a progress bar instead?

Hard Drive Hot Swap disable root password request
Hi Everyone,
I have a question regarding hot swap on CenOS 6. I am currently running RAID 1, when I swap one of the hard drives with a new/blank drive; the system prompts a popup for root password. Is there anyway I can disable the root password requirement?
Thanks,

Compiling kernel with RT patch
So, I am trying to compile the kernel with the RT patch; however, I am unsuccessful. I currently have vmlinuz-3.10.0-327.18.2.el7.x86_64 as the kernel to load, with initramfs-3.10.0-327.18.2.el7.x86_64.img. I downloaded the source code for kernel -3.10.0-327.18.2.el7.x86_64, and compiled. However, I...

Re: Centos 7 RAID 1 high I/O wait time
Hi aks,
So, I ran non-RAID CentOS 7; and the iowait issue does not exist. Now, I am lead to believe it could be something with mdadm. Is there some setting I can change through mdadm that could reduce iowait?

Re: Centos 7 RAID 1 high I/O wait time
Hi aks, Thanks for the valuable info. Hardware is same, both CentOS 6 and 7 is being setup as ext4. I did investigate with iotop, and found some process that have different wait time between CentOS 6 and CentOS 7. As you stated, perhaps there is a system/kernel call from my process that is being han...
