Re: What do you think of the recent Red Hat announcement about CentOS Linux/Stream?
Red Hat Talks CentOS Past, Present, and Future : https://www.datacenterknowledge.com/open-source/red-hat-talks-centos-past-present-and-future You know, we've had CentOS Stream internally since probably RHEL 2, it's just that we would call it a 'nightly build. -- Mike McGrath, Red Hat's VP of Linux e...

Re: Sendmail 4.7.0 TLS handshake failed
You've convinced me to use Postfix :) First I got a similar issue with Postfix. I struggled a bit to make it work with Letsencrypt but that website helped a lot (for those with the same use case : https://zurgl.com/how-to-configure-tls-encryption-in-postfix/ ). Once I managed to set up the opportuni...

Re: Sendmail 4.7.0 TLS handshake failed
Also, why would anyone use sendmail in 2021? ok, I checked and didn’t know it was that old school (1980). Is the project abandonned ? I use it because it is already installed by default and runs out of the box. But I have never used it for anything else than sending logs... This time I’m deal...

Sendmail 4.7.0 TLS handshake failed
Hi, I use sendmail on a couple of servers and it works fine... except when sending email to one specific email provider I get a 403 4.7.0 TLS handshake failed error Mar 2 18:05:33 myserver sendmail[291339]: 122H5X8d291339: to=email@orange.fr, ctladdr=username (1001/1001), delay=00:00:00, xdelay=00:0...

Re: RHEL as a replacement for CentOS?
Somehow, the libselinux version from module libselinux-python gets selected over the standalone libselinux version. The module libselinux-python is Springdale-specific: neither RHEL nor CentOS provide it. Try dnf module disable libselinux-python Yes, that solved the issue. Thanks ! There is another...

Re: RHEL as a replacement for CentOS?
These packages exist in Springdale repos but they where downgraded inexplicably during the distro-sync from CentOS to Springdale.

Re: RHEL as a replacement for CentOS?
P.S. : Springdale is not a 100% clone of RHEL I tried a dystro-sync from a CentOS box for testing : Downgrading: libselinux x86_64 2.9-2.1.module+el8.1.0+3972+45ab4324 sdl8-appstream 161 k Enabling module streams: libselinux-python 2.8 python27 On Springdale : $ sudo dnf list installed | grep selinu...

Re: RHEL as a replacement for CentOS?
AlmaLinux (CloudLinux team) released a beta of its RHEL clone today : https://blog.almalinux.org/introducing-almalinux-beta-a-community-driven-replacement-for-centos/ I had a look at RHEL Developper Program yesterday (the 16 free subscriptions for production servers) and their website is quite confu...

Re: RHEL as a replacement for CentOS?
@ username : You optimist. Simple oneshot scripts that do not fault ... :P Still with very few machines to migrate, it’s a bit tempting ;) Does someone knows if migrating a server from CentOS to RHEL does reinstall ALL the packages or only a few ? I tried the Oracle script (hem... just to have a lo...
