Re: Cannot log into my CentOS 6 system

Trevor didn't say that you should try to execute /etc/fstab. He said that you should edit it. It's just a plain text file.

Did you do the remount command that Trevor gave you?

Code: Select all

mount -o remount,rw /

Re: How to add loop suport to my kernel?

You don't need to do that. It was already built as a module and all you had to do was load it. Or perhaps there was a different problem at play. No problemo. I never installed the kernel that I built because I can get pretty nervous, with shaky hands in an operating room and I already killed a VPS....

Amanda?
The issue isn't backing up the files.

The issue is getting a full snapshot of the VM's filesystem, without stopping the VM for the time it takes to make the snapshot.

Suggestions on backing-up VM filesystems

I have a couple of KVM VMs with the images stored as qcow2 image files that I want to backup to another machine (and ultimately off-site). I want to automate this to run on a weekly basis. I don't want to stop the VMs if possible. I realize that this could mean slightly corrupted backups if the qemu...

Better to find out about RAID 0 vs 1 before it fails...
The data is transient. It would not matter if it failed ... that's why it's RAID0: for performance.

You can't check it because it's RAID 0 and there is no redundancy to check. It's not RAID 1.
Thanks for pointing that out. I feel like a moron for thinking that it is RAID1.

Re: Forcing a re-sync of a RAID1 mirror?

I looked into what the script does, but the file doesn't exist: # echo "check" > /sys/block/md0/md/sync_action -bash: /sys/block/md0/md/sync_action: Permission denied # ls /sys/block/md0/md/ array_size bitmap component_size dev-sdb layout max_read_errors new_dev rd0 reshape_direction resync_start ar...

Forcing a re-sync of a RAID1 mirror?

How do you force a re-sync/check of a RAID1 mirror?

Re: Dell R240 Centos 6.10 Support

I am aware it is not listed in the compatibility matrix for RHEL, just wonder if anyone here was able to install Centos 6 on this server. Having a bit of trouble finding the old R230 which certainly works. I am aware of upgrading to 7, though the solution we are integrating was designed for 6 and w...

The server is deployed in local network. How do I verify that the application listens to 5060? Definitely is not because the sip listening port is just

Code: Select all

netstat -avpn | grep 5060
