Difference between kernel and kernel alt packages

Hello

I have rhel 7.4 with kernel rpm and not kernel alt rpm. Recently redhat released cve 2018 14634 to address mutagen astronomy bug. It says effected package for rhel 7 is kernel alt. So that means kernel package is not effected and I do not need to uograde?

yum-security-plugin in Centos

Hello,

I am using Centos 7 in some of servers here.

Our management decided to update only critical/security patches to installed patches.

RHEL has yum-security plugin that installs only security/critical patches and not bug fixes and enhancements

Does Centos has anything something like this?
