Re: How to rename RAID1 /dev/md127 to /dev/md2 ?

I don't know about FakeRAID. As I said, I create a virtual machine in VMWare workstation with two disks and run CenOS 7 setup with RAID and GPT support. That line "AUTO +imsm +1.x -all" was created automatically. I saw also this: # ls -l /dev/md/* lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 8 Jul 28 15:27 /dev/md/root -...

How to rename RAID1 /dev/md127 to /dev/md2 ?

Hello, I installed RAID1 with two disks in my VMware virtual machine (GPT disk with BIOS). I would like to change /dev/md127 to /dev/md2 for consistency with my server. How could I do that? Thank you. # cat /proc/mdstat Personalities : [raid1] md127 : active raid1 sda2[0] sdb2[2] 30407680 blocks sup...

uname -a : still need reboot after kernel update?

Hello, I just use yum to update to CentOS 7.2.1511. There is also update of kernel: by executing "uname -a" before reboot, I got: Linux (hostname) 3.10.0-229.20.1.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Nov 3 19:10:07 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux which is the updated kernel. Question: Do I still have to re...

Successful remote upgrade from CentOS 4.9 to CentOS 5.7

Hello, As you should already know, the End of Maintenance Phase for CentOS 4 is Feb 29, 2012. Since I only have SSH access to my server, and since apparently there is no recommended nor official way to remote upgrade from CentOS 4.x to 5.x (reminder: CentOS-5 updates until Mar 31, 2014, and CentOS-6...

Re: How much gets updated from CR to 5.7?

Hello,

Now that CentOS 5.7 is out, should I remove /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-CR.repo (5.6 Continous Release)?
Or can I leave it as is?

Re: No php 5.3 in CentOS 5.6?

@markkuk and @hawaiian717: thank you for your answers. @hawaiian717: the 5.6 Continuous Release repository raises question exactly as in: http://www.atomicorp.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5023&view=next I would prefer ignore 5.6 Continous Release repository, and only get fast, latest updates from ...

No php 5.3 in CentOS 5.6?

Hello, 1) From the CentOS 5 announcement, php 5.3 is available with CentOS 5.6. But when I run "yum list php" or "yum update" the latest php version available is 5.1.6-27. Am I missing something? 2) Also when will the fix for Apache vulnerability http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2011-1245.html be a...
