.forward file ignored then not - weird

This is an observation, not a plea for immediate help... I have several servers running CentOS 5.x and a few running CentOS 6.0. In all cases, I have logwatch installed and a .forward file in the root home directory sending the resultant email. This worked just fine until I started using version 6.0...

Re: ASUS Xonar D2 PCI card drivers/kmods

I used modprobe.conf to make sure that the ASUS was loaded as card0. Listening to The Drivers as I type.

A big thank you to everyone. :-D

Re: No sound w/CentOS 6 x86_64

Looks like the modprobe.conf changes did make the difference. Listening to The Drifters as I type.

A big thank you to everyone. :-D

Re: No sound w/CentOS 6 x86_64

Well, I adjusted the modprob.conf file and rebooted. Now the ASUS Xonar D2 is registering as "card0", BUT still no audio. The System->Preferences->Sound (a.k.a. gnome-volume-control) sees the ASUS card as the primary output device, but when I "test speakers" there is nothing coming out. I've checked...

Re: No sound w/CentOS 6 x86_64

There is no /etc/modprobe.conf file. Should I create one? [code]# lsmod | grep snd snd_virtuoso 13484 1 snd_oxygen_lib 34740 1 snd_virtuoso snd_mpu401_uart 6825 1 snd_oxygen_lib snd_rawmidi 23373 1 snd_mpu401_uart snd_hda_codec_atihdmi 3023 1 snd_hda_intel 25194 0 snd_hda_codec 82097 2 snd_hda_codec...

Re: No sound w/CentOS 6 x86_64

There are two "cards" listed; the audio portion of my graphics card and the ASUS Xonar (here listed as "Oxygen HD Audio") [code] # lspci -nn | grep -iE 'audio|sound' 04:00.1 Audio device [0403]: ATI Technologies Inc Juniper HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 5700 Series] [1002:aa58] 06:01.0 Multimedia audio cont...

ASUS Xonar D2 PCI card drivers/kmods

I'm beginning to think that CentOS 6 x86_64 is just not compatible with sound cards... According to the ALSA page the kernel should have the right pieces already built in, but nothing is coming out of the speakers. So, which modules are necessary and which are suprfluous? [code] $ lsmod | grep snd s...

Re: No sound w/CentOS 6 x86_64

Well, I replaced the Creative Labs Sound Blaster card with an ASUS Xonar D2 PCI card. Still no sound. I guess I'm not holding my mouth right.

Can anyone tell me which kernel mods I should have installed? Have I gotten something out of whack? How can I tell?

mouse scroll wheel - how to disable click paste

I have a two button wheel mouse (PS/2) that seems to be configured in some location that I cannot find. I would like to disable the wheel click/paste function. Where would this be set/unset?
