Re: Samba users deleting root files with permission 775

Hi, Thank you for the reply. Is there any workaround, other then using chattr +i ? What I am trying is to create some files in a user's folder that the user can not modify or delete in anyway. Using chattr +i is also preventing me (as root) from modifying it. I have to chattr -i the file everytime I...

Re: Multiple users from xp client connecting to Samba 3.0.33 CentOS 5.5 64bit

Well , good news is that I found the solution and it is an easy one. I added netbios aliases to the smb.conf file and mapped same drive letter with to a different aliased servername for each user. Now that all users connect from the same client to the same file with different pid numbers on Samba / ...

Samba 3.0.37 for Centos 5.5

Hi, I had installed Centos 5.4 , then upgraded to 5.5 hoping that new version has samba 3.5.x. However the updated Centos 64-bit 5.5 also has Samba 3.0.33-3.28.el5. How can I update samba at least to Samba 3.0.37 ? The reason is, there seems to be security concerns on samba website, and I wish, at l...

Re: GA-K8N Pro-SLI Nvidia Ethernet System Alarm Timed Wake up problem

Hi, I updated bios but it did not made any difference. Trying shutdown -h now , has no effect either... I could not find anything solid in the bug tracker... Only an abandoned reverse mac case... But it states that bug is from Asus Bios. I have a Gigabyte motherboard and I do not think this is a bio...
