need good tabbed ssh connection manager

What do people use on Centos 7 for a tabbed ssh connection manager these days? Gnome Connection Manager looks good, especially with clustering ability, but it doesn't seem to be actively developed. Putty works, I guess, but no clustering, right? ClusterSSH? plus PacManager? Google and searching past...

KVM network config in CentOS 6.6

I built a CentOS 6.6 server choosing the "Virtual Host" option at installation time. This seemed to build the bridge for me, and a Centos 6.6 VM using default networking can get traffic in and out just fine. But I still don't understand.... ifconfig shows: - eth0 , with the real IP for the host's ni...

swap size limited to 1GB when installing 6.4

When I install 6.4 from DVD1 to an ESX VM, I can set the swap partition size to 2GB or 4GB, but when Centos boots, "df" only shows 939MB being used for swap. Not doing anything fancy in the partitioning. "lsblk" shows: sda1 8:1 0 500M 0 part /boot sda2 8:2 0 4G 0 part [SWAP] sda3 8:3 0 95.5G 0 part ...

Re: Centos or RHEL System Administration Guide -- where to find?

I thank everyone for the replies, and I guess I'll stop asking for something that doesn't seem to exist. I've looked over the available RHEL 5 documentation, and still don't see anything focused on general System Administration. Maybe it's part of the docs listed there, but it's not obvious to me. T...

Re: Centos or RHEL System Administration Guide -- where to find?

Well I did look through the FAQ, the Centos 5 docs, and the RHEL5 docs, but found nothing like System Administration. There is Cluster Administration and Virtual Server Administration, but nothing for a stand-alone system that I saw. Sorry if I missed something, but I did look. Thanks for the reply....

Re: how to create device special files without rebooting?

Thanks for the reply.

I could do the dump because there was a /dev/sdb file.

But it took a reboot to create the files for the partitions, ie /dev/sdb1, so I could mount them.

Rebooting was ok in this case, but I wondered how I'd do it if I wasn't able to reboot.

how to create device special files without rebooting?

I made a duplicate of a Centos 5.5 system disk with dump (dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb). No device files for sdb were created, but I guess that's not too surprising. I rebooted, and the device files were created. But how would I create them if I wanted to avoid the reboot? I looked around for info on ...

Centos or RHEL System Administration Guide -- where to find?

Where can I find the System Administration Guide for Centos or RHEL 5.5?

Maybe the subject is covered in various other volumes of the doc set.

Any pointers or advice are appreciated.

Thanks....Lyle

rebuilding software raid mirror on Centos 4

Hello, All: I'm trying to "clone" a Centos 4.2 system, with 2 disks in a software raid mirror. I used dd to make copies of each disk, but using the new disks in the same box will not let me boot. First I get complaints from the PERC Raid controller on the Dell box. I thought since I did software rai...
