upgrade from 4 to 5?

To upgrade from 4 to 5 can I simply just run this on the command line?
#yum upgrade yum kernel

How do I copy all my old iptables and scripts over to version 5?
Will upgrading affect my partitions and squid cache?

filter bittorrent - no repos?

I am trying to either install l7 filters, ipp2p, or rope on centod but there is nothing in the repos. Is there a recommended way to do this? I need to block all bittorrent traffic on my server and just blocking the main ports isn't enough as traffic is getting through. I tried compiling the rpms of ...

cannot close xterm

I had this error when installing and running a vncserver before, which I have now removed. Should the pid IDs stay the same each time I run this? AllowPassword already on for nxserverI

I'm following the guide here: http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/FreeNX Specifically there is a part that says: [quote] If your machine is connected to the Internet, you'll probably want to disallow ssh password authentication (which is advised but not mandatory). Edit the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file and c...

I changed it in the config file as per the setup.
I have since got the gnome panel back but I can;t get rid of the multiple xterm windows - any ideas?
