iperf -c server shows upload speed.

iperf -c server -r shows bidirectional speed, but listen port should be opened (5001 default)

listen port can be specified: iperf -c server -r -L port

I have used:

iperf -c public_server

For example: iperf -c mptcp.info.ucl.ac.be

Google "iperf server" or "public iperf server".

I have the same problem. The last string seen on the display - "udev [OK]", then the display goes out. In single user mode kde starting correctly. I tried to install again with DVD.
