There is only one data point here to talk about. We say do not modify the content of the iso image, copy it bit for bit.
You don't.

Re: bootable flash for centos 7
As far as I can see the arguments here boil down to 1) CentOS says do not modify our iso image data, just write it to USB. If you modify it then the results may be incorrect. vs 2) It's fine to modify the data, it's your data that's wrong and I should be able to modify it in a way that I think is sa...

Re: bootable flash for centos 7
You seem hung up on some change that you think happened in 8.2. I do not know if there was a change or not but I do know that the problem pre-dates 8.2 by years. The note about Rufus that I added to the wiki is dated July 2019 and at that point there was no CentOS 8 and there were no iso images for ...

Re: bootable flash for centos 7
The way it works is we put out iso images which are correct. Your program writes those to media and corrupts them. Under what circumstances are we going to recommend that people use a program that corrupts the data that they're about to use to install with? They are iso images, why are you ever tryi...

Re: bootable flash for centos 7
I checked our wiki page and I added the warning about using rufus with the wrong options back in 2019-07 and I would only have done that after receiving sufficient reports of it breaking things to verify that it was true. I don't run Windows so I've never even downloaded rufus. Do not blame me for n...

Re: bootable flash for centos 7
We've been fielding reports of broken isos from using Rufus for years, it's not something that only just broke.

Re: Did I install Mysql with MariaDB?
Mariadb is a fork of mysql so many thing in it still refer to mysql and probably always will.

Re: Low memory in file system
I'd wait and find out where your disk space has gone before you uninstall anything. And I use a slightly different command to track down used space (run as root): du -m -x -d 1 / | sort -n That lists the top level directories on the / filesystem with the ones at the bottom that use the most space. I...

Re: UEFI SecureBoot: integrity: Problem loading X.509 certificate -74
There is a Fedora bug entry for the message that is issued that says it's a problem in the RH patches they add to the kernel. I suspect they've helpfully backported the same bug to the RHEL kernels. Since RH have basically abandoned CentOS Linux 8, I would suggest that you test using CentOS Stream a...

We do not support any control panels. You need to ask the people that supply it.
