Re: Small Business Server on CentOS?

Might consider SME Server ... last I checked it was another 'integrated' small business server product, but based off of CentOS. Granted, a bit old - or just 'well seasoned', depending on your preference, with v.8.0 being based off CentOS 5.8. v.9.0 is in the works, and I presume based off CentOS 6.x.

Re: CentOS 6 release??

Ugh. Disregard my last... I've been reading through the last month or so of centos-devel... I think things would go faster if people quit harassing KB, but the man seems to have the patience of a saint in answering folks.

I'll be looking forward to 6.0, whenever it gets done.

Re: CentOS 6 release??

Just out of curiosity... what all is involved in taking the software as it comes from upstream and releasing it as CentOS N.n? I gather there is a fair amount of 'branding' that has to be removed... seems like that would be somewhat predictable (and scriptable). What else has to be 'cleaned up'? I'm...

Re: Search function is a little wonky

Wow. I guess you don't mind a broken search function on the forum?

Re: Search function is a little wonky

Alan, I'll take a look... I'd kind of backed off CentOS in general after a bad experience on #centos. Coming back (glutton for punishment, I guess) I was disappointed to see that (apparently) little had changed on the site. It just seems like too nice a distro to be ham-strung by the forum software....

Re: Search function is a little wonky

Six months and no changes. I guess everyone else is okay with a search function that only returns one page of results? I thought there was some progress going to be made as far as updating the forum software to something a little more usable, or at least a color scheme not quite so garish and hard o...

Re: Suggestions on forum improvements

Phil, That December thread was one that I was referring to... its too bad that m2f isn't really functional for phpBB3 right now, or it'd render the whole mailing-list vs forum argument somewhat moot. Not quite sure what to make of the LDAP bit... is the use of LDAP required because of the Xoops CMS?...

Re: Suggestions on forum improvements

Phil, Alan, Given some discussion elsewhere I've looked around a little at phpBB, mainly because 1) its what I see being used @ forums.debian.net, 2) it seems to work well enough there and 3) its free ;) vBulletin as used @ ubuntuforums.org costs $$$ and while it might be appropriate for what is fra...

Re: Excessive dhcp requests
Understood, but making it work is going to be somewhere between non-trivial and near-impossible.
Guess I don't entirely understand what difference it makes where either interface gets its ip address and routing information, so long as they aren't both from the same source. On my phy...

Re: Excessive dhcp requests

Phil, Unfortunately that somewhat defeats the intent of the exercise... I *want* that gateway/router box to be the sole point of contact between the internal virtual LAN, and the rest of the network. The purpose is two-fold: one, to simulate a gateway machine standing between the internal LAN and th...
