Re: How to add a new repository AND its GPG key ?

Ok so here is a question I can answer! :-P Usually when you want to add repositories you can just enter the command via rpm for example, if you wanted to add the RPM forge Repo, you'd enter this as the command.
rpm -Uhv http://apt.sw.be/packages/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.3.6-1.el5.rf...

Re: I've been rooted

Don't know what I did with the image that I had, so I can not comment. The exploit took place inside of a day, probably after discovering my old version of PHPMYAdmin, I wiped the machine and I did re-install it, I guess I learned not to have older stale versions of PHPMyAdmin on there, no any other...

Re: Streaming video, music etc..

Maybe you should try a Gig-E Switch... ? With that much media I would perhaps look at a RAID setup for it. SATA RAID should suffice. If the disks are external, move them over to a e-SATA if you can rather then USB. In my opinion I bet you that the bottleneck would be your network connection with all...

Re: Centos 5.1 Installation issue on Dell PowerEdge R710

Here is an article posted on the topic. http://lwn.net/Articles/164121/ Basically it talks about instruction sets that are supported for a particular CPU architecture. This error message is probably indicating that your CPU architecture is not particularly ...

Re: CentOS 5.5 install hangs on Dell Poweredge 400SC

I've installed CentOS on that particular model just fine here. I used the x386 version, the only thing I could think of is maybe your SATA drives are set to a RAID or AHCI mode in BIOS? If you are going to install with the partition scheme you set up, you would probably want to make sure that you ar...

Re: I've been rooted

Well its been pretty crazy over here, I am wrapping up a project here this month, So sorry for my long delay... What I have done to secure the other systems is in the very least remove the PHPMYAdmin setup file. Something that I had not even really bothered to look for. I assumed that PHP didn't hav...

Re: I've been rooted

I know :-) That one I just found while backing stuff off the Live CD pretty much right away, I didn't yet have time to go through the logs and what not. :pint: So I have some Logs for you so far. Actually they seem to have been tampered with a bit, because I had quite a few log files archived that a...

Re: I've been rooted

I've made a backup of the hard drive with the Live CD, and also an Image file, decided to go poking around a bit. Found this in the tmp thought it was cute. Well that explains the Perl threads, interestingly enough they were spawining and sticking to about 78% CPU time on the box, so I'll have to go...
