just create a cron job, usual directory /var/spool/cron the easyest way is to install a CP i have installed webmin then you just select "Scheduled Cron Jobs" and add the command and repeat times or an init tab for bootup only, usual directory /etc/inittab these sevices can be restarted with the init...

yep, it's called relaying, sendmail is rather awkward to setup, there are a variety of relaying options, to send mail through an external company you will need to configure sendmail with the smarthost function. (the easyest way to configure sendmail is to install webmin with sendmail).

php 5.2.6 does not default with the mysql or postgresql communication enabled, run a phpinfo(); grab the configure command (put it in notepad) and change the appropriate --without-... to --with-.. not navigate your server to the php install dir and make (you will need to backup httpd and stop apache...
