Re: Assign space left in sda2 to cl-root

Your partition sda2 appears to be LVM physical volume (PV). You can see PVs with: pvs and pvdisplay The PV is member of LVM volume group (VG) "cl". You can see VGs with: vgs and vgdisplay The "cl-root" is a LVM logical volume (LV). You can see LVs with: lvs and lvdisplay If everything is as it seems...

Re: problem with adding space

Figure 8.17 in https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/7/html/installation_guide/sect-disk-partitioning-setup-x86 * "Automatically configure partitioning" is selected by default * You have to select "I will configure partitioning" . Then "Done" will take you to "Manual...

Re: How many nameserver can be added to /etc/resolve.con

There is more. The glibc is not the only possible resolver. Particularly, if you do use NetworkManager.service (which is the default) rather than network.service . man NetworkManager.conf describes option dns . What I did was to install dnsmasq ( sudo yum install dnsmasq ) and create file: $ cat /et...

Re: iptables- restore issue

I don't think that I have iptables.service in any of my CentOS 7 machines.
Systemctl does not wrap to /sbin/service? It does for some units ... or was it the other way around? :?

Re: installatio nof microsoft teams in centos7 problem

Which version of Teams? What is gcc10.xyz.rpm ? Where does that come from? The last time that I did check, Microsoft's teams repository (there is only one) had teams-1.4.00.7556-1 as the last version that installs on RHEL 7. The teams-1.4.00.13653-1 requires library versions that can be found from R...

Re: iptables- restore issue

I don't know whether firewalld "knows". The alternative is that it "assumes" that kernel has exactly the ruleset that firewalld has written. If two actors append rules unaware of each other, the resulting ruleset is most likely flawed. The iptables-restore does by default flush first. That is, remov...

Re: solved: centos 7 router no internet access

You can do that, but surely those DNS servers cannot be reached via the subnet that eth0 is on? When eth0 comes up, the name servers are added to /etc/resolv.conf, but they are usable only when eth1 and DSLppp0 are up. Not logical. I would assume that the DSLppp0 connection (or eth1) would get IP ad...

Re: Can't Connect to the same port from two different machines

First some notes: Kernel of el7 has netfilter . It has "iptables rules". Those can be added with 'iptables' or 'firewall-cmd'. Kernel of el8 has nftables . It has "nftables rules". Those can be added with 'nft' or 'firewall-cmd' ... and 'iptables'. However, the 'iptables' in el8 is only a wrapper of...

Re: centos 7 router no internet access

GATEWAY=<my-public-ip-address> You did not follow the instructions. The instructions leave the "Gateway" empty. The "gateway" is the "default route". Gateway is the router that you send to, if you don't have more specific route that applies to the packet. Your machine gets the "gateway" info from I...
