Re: New Makemvk dependencey missing
Their reply (and rightfully so) will be that the distro should be using or have available a current version of the library. Over the years I have been through this a number of times with a lot of different software. Currently I am in a similar issue with my Raspberry Pi and one of the graphics libra...

Re: New Makemvk dependencey missing
I am very aware of the history of that stance. You and I are both aware that as the support life has increased so has that stance. An easy example would be the python situation. As the python 2 series has hit eol, RH had to add python 3. The sad part of that is RH knew that python 2 would hit eol lo...

Re: New Makemvk dependencey missing
I had epel-release installed and active. Tracked stuff around a little more. IF you activate centos-extras it gives you a huge list of other repos including CentOS-SCLo-scl-rh.repo. Which has the devtoolset-8 stuff, it also has devlist-9(just to mention). I wonder if epel was hosting it before this ...

Re: New Makemvk dependencey missing
I have no issue with it being closed source. It is what it is. However, if sending out untested packages has become the norm, it would go a long way to explaining why Centos's quality has dropped so far. It may not directly be a Centos issue but since it is an "approved" repo it is certainly a conce...

Re: New Makemvk dependencey missing
I guess from my point of view, whether or no it is open source is irrelevant. The package was added to the repo and it does not work. I have always assumed that the people who build the packages actually make sure that they work.

New Makemvk dependencey missing
"Error: Package: makemkv-1.15.0-1.el7.x86_64 (epel-multimedia)
Requires: libstdc++.so.6(CXXABI_1.3.9)(64bit)"
As far as I can tell, that is a newer version (libstdc++) than is in any of the repos. Which leads me to wonder how the package was built.

Re: Problem with Yum: [Errno -1] Error importing repomd.xml
Whatever the cause, it is back to working fine as of this morning. I can access the directories just like normal.

Re: Problem with Yum: [Errno -1] Error importing repomd.xml
Trevor that makes no sense. IF it were a problem between me and the server it would block the access to all the directories and not just some.
