Re: tomcat5 bracketed jar files?
pschaff wrote: Don't know where those are coming from but as far as I can tell not from CentOS tomcat5 packages.
Hmm perhaps not, but then at least they get bracketed during installation. I just tried it again on a clean machine:
# ls -l /var/lib/tomcat5/common/lib ls: /var/li...

tomcat5 bracketed jar files?

Hi all I have been struggling to get web services to work using Apache Tomcat & Axis and I have noticed something odd: The file names of many jar files are enclosed in square brackets:
# ls -l /usr/share/tomcat5/common/lib total 76 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 Apr 6 15:33 [ant].jar -> /usr/share...

Re: Experiences with Kerberos using AES?

Answering to my own questions.. (since no one else has) Windows 2000 only supports DES-CBC-MD5 and DES-CBC-CRC. Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 can ha...

Experiences with Kerberos using AES?

Hi all Does anyone here have any experience with using AES for Kerberos encryption instead of DES? Since DES is pretty much obsolete these days I'm thinking of switching to AES instead, but every tutorial on Kerberos seems to be using DES so I guess that's still the standard (although most of them a...

NFSv4 and portmap

Hi all. I have a working Kerberos system and now I'm trying to set up home directories exported with NFSv4. All documentation I've seen on the subject says that NFSv4 is no longer using/requires the portmap service, but I am unable to start the nfs service without starting portmap first. I've config...

Re: sshd X11 forwarding does not work

Thanks all, but I solved it myself: I needed to install xauth to make it work. That should be done automatically IMHO, since CentOS apparently is very dependant on X11.

Absolutely, unless there is some other method than
/etc/init.d/sshd restart

I need to use.

sshd X11 forwarding does not work

I can't get X11 forwarding in sshd to work. I've just installed CentOS (5) for the first time and I want to use it as a web server. But since there are no decent command line tools I guess I have to use the X11 based, but I don't want to install a desktop/windows system on my server. The solution is...
