Re: devel packages?

Nevermind, I clearly am slow. The packages I was missing were on the second DVD ISO. Once I mounted both, our repos are full.

Re: devel packages?

Actually, I think I see the problem. We downloaded the CentOS 6.0 DVD iso images, which we are using for the "os" repositories for each i386 and x86_64. It seems that the "Packages" directory on the iso images, which are supposed to have the same data as the online "os" repositories, have much less....

[RESOLVED] devel packages?

Hi All, Just curious if anyone knows - I see a lot of packages without their accompanying -devel packages in CentOS 6.0. Like, I'll see "gbdm" in the repos, but I couldn't find "gbdm-devel". Same for a bunch of other packages. I'm able to find the devel packages at Scientific Linux repos, or other p...

Re: Temperature above threshold?

Hmm.. If that is the case, then Dell has a serious design problem with the R910 and R810 line of servers. *All* of the R910s and R810s exhibit this problem. Maybe they did not design them to push enough air through or something. Looking inside, they appear to have their heatsinks on securely and loo...

Re: Temperature above threshold?

Hi, Thanks for replying! I talked to the Dell Engineering team and they had me run a bunch of diagnostics of the system, and we've determined that the temperatures, even under load (when we see the temperature messages), are within normal limits. What's interesting is that we see this on all of the ...

Temperature above threshold?

Hi All, We're having this weird issue that I'm hoping someone from the CentOS team can answer: We have a couple Dell R910 servers, which have the Intel X7560 chipset in them. Works great. Only thing is, whenever the server comes under load, we get these messages spewed to the console (and every ssh ...

Apache "Error 406 - Not Acceptable"

Hi Y'all, Weird error I have here with apache, the stock version that comes with CentOS 5.5 (httpd-2.2.3-43.el5.centos). A user wants to be able to download files within his homedir through the web. Most files work just fine. However, he recently discovered that files ending in .vcf produce the foll...

Re: udev hangs on boot for a long time, suspect pam_console_apply

You win the prize. That did it!

I remember seeing this fix for other random LDAP problems I've heard of, so I'll distribute it widely. Thanks, our project can now move forward!

udev hangs on boot for a long time, suspect pam_console_appl

Hi All, I'm hoping someone knows about this one... I'm running the latest CentOS 5.4 with kernel 2.6.18-164.15.1.el5 (x86_64). When I boot the machine, it gets to the udev starting bit, hangs for like 5 minutes, then prints a message "Failed, will continue in the background." Then it boots OK after ...
