e1000e: eth0 NIC Link is Down

Recently upgraded a server running Xen from 3.18.44-20.el6.x86_64 to 4.9.39-29.el6.x86_64 (did a yum update so other packages would have been updated to). Since rebooting, we randomly get "e1000e: eth0 NIC Link is Down", this happens for only a second, but since we have this interface bonded it can ...

Re: High ksoftirqd cpu usage

I don't know thats why I'm asking! I don't think it is I/O as read/writes appear to be fine, we have had other servers where read/writes are very slow but still hasn't caused this type of interrupts. I don't know whether it is huge as such but it shows in top as using 100~% of the cpu most of the ti...

Re: High ksoftirqd cpu usage

I had a look at both disk and networking, the disk doesn't seem to be having any issues and the networking is a fair amount but there are more on other nodes from what I can see.

High ksoftirqd cpu usage

We have a high ksoftirqd cpu usage on one of our CentOS 6 which is running Xen. There are a number of VM's running on here but no more than other nodes we have of a similar spec. Find below the output of proc/interrupts, i'm not really sure what is causing it or how to resolve it. https://www.dropbo...

Re: ebtables ipv6 support

The main purpose of this currently is to limit certain IP's to certain VIF's to stop IP stealing as well as preventing ARP attacks, which is why ebtables is being used at the moment.

Re: ebtables ipv6 support

These are for existing servers, and the IPv6 seems to work as fine, just need this last piece of the puzzle.

The only issue with using elrepo repo is we are using Xen at the moment. These are existing nodes, we wouldn't consider using CentOS 5 for a new deployment.

Re: ebtables ipv6 support

We need to do filtering basic on the vif. We are currently using it in conjunction with some third party software. Works fine with centos 6 we just need the IPv6 module for centos 5 and no how to proceed in getting it added.
