Bengali Keyboard on Windowmaker

I want to use the English as well as the Bengali Probhat layout on WindowMaker and switch between them. I used to use the gnome classic desktop and did not have any problem then using these two layouts. I am using CentOS 7.4 now and the suggestions obtained by "google"ing hasn't helped so far. Any h...

New version of Boost on CentOS-6 , possible?:

I want to install boost-1.53 on CentOS-6.4 using the src.rpm from rawhide (fc19). It needs python3 and I have used the python3 from fc13 to rebuild it. Now I am hesitating to "upgrade" the stock boost-1.41 to this boost-1.53. Is boost-1.41 tied to any system functions on rhel6? I want to install onl...

Setting up canon laser Printer

I could not find a reliable way to use the stupid Canon Duplex Laser Printer LBP 3300 with centos 6. There are instructions to set it up with Fedora 17 : http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=280582 does not work on my machine. The printer is detected but the machine does not take the feed ...

Re: Setting up a scientific cluster with Centos 6.3

I was wondering whether using Rocks Cluster Distro would be our simplest choice. However my colleagues who are going to be the primary user of the cluster claim that, the nodes will fill up their disks very fast under Rocks as their data files are huge. I could not follow their logic. Any clarificat...

Re: Setting up a scientific cluster with Centos 6.3

We plan to use one as a master node,
the rest as slaves. Does it make it an SMP system?

Re: Setting up a scientific cluster with Centos 6.3

Thank you everybody. And to answer DouglasRyder: I have a bunch of workstations ( 8 of them now ) - all of which have2 quad core xeons with two 0.5 TB HDD and 8GB rams. I run mostly single threaded monte carlo simulations of esoteric quantum field theories while my colleagues run molecular dynamics ...

Setting up a scientific cluster with Centos 6.3

Can anyone please provide me with some directions ( docs, links , manuals etc. ) on how to setup a computational cluster (for running c/c++, fortran simulations ) with CentOS 6.3? I only know how to set up workstations and its maintainance. Never done any server setup. Please treat me with kid glove...
