Re: D820 Display Adapter

Thanks. I'll try the other suggestions.

One other symptom I would like to add is that it crashes when I try to add the dual head - spanning desktop option to the video settings.

I'll see what I can come up with.

Thanks, again.

Re: D820 Display Adapter

Well, I was successful in installing the DAG repository and attempted to change the video card model using the GUI. The two nvidia selections that show up in this window (Video Card) are: nv - NVidia Riva 128, RIVA TNT, GeForce, nForce and QUADRO cards nvidia - Vendor-supplied driver for nvidia card...

D820 Display Adapter

I've got a Dell Latitude D820 with an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 120M display adapter. Upon installation CentOS 5 identifies it as a GeForce 7400 and the highest resolution I can obtain is 1280 x 1024. Is there any way to install or "create" drivers for this display adapter? I'd really like to be able to set...

Re: Command Line NIC/eth0 Configuration

Sorry. Completely new to this. How do you run setup-->network? I figured he was mentioning menu options in the GUI from the sounds of it. I should have asked but didn't want to look like a complete idiot. But maybe I did anyway. And netconfig? That sounds more like a command line utility but still n...

Re: Command Line NIC/eth0 Configuration

rapo1, Are you speaking of reserving and assigning an ip address on the DHCP server? I suppose that would get me where I want to be. But I still wouldn't have learned how to do this at the command line. And, unfortunately, I rebooted the box and it assigned it an ip address via DHCP again. I ran the...

Command Line NIC/eth0 Configuration

G'Day, all. I was wondering if you might be able to help me with my eth0 configuration? I want to be able to configure my eth0 from the command line. I've installed CactiEZ and the GUI is not available so I need to configure the eth0 and change it from DHCP to static. I was able to change the ip add...

Re: MRTG on CentOS 4

K_Frye, Thanks, again. I do have a few more questions if you wouldn't mind? When I installed Cacti via Vum it installed: cacti rrdtool php-snmp perl-rrdtool 1) According to the Installation How To for Unix http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/contrib/Cacti-Linux-How-To.pdf it mentions installing "net...

Re: MRTG on CentOS 4

Thanks, K-Frye.

I just finished the cacti installation via yum.

I guess I'll switch gears and head over to cacti.net.

Out of curiosity, what is it that you like about Cacti and what is it that is better than MRTG?

Thanks, again!
