Re: asio-devel package missing?

FYI: There is a problem in RHEL:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1788738

The asio-devel package exists but dnf/yum does not find it. Not directly affecting CentOS at the moment but may have to be looked into when putting 8.1 together.

Re: Installation Centos 8 issue.

I assume you mounted the installation DVD when you started. You just need to remove it and try rebooting.

Re: Kernel 4.18 on centos7.7

If you'd like to use a kernel offered by CentOS, there is kernel-4.19 in:

http://mirror.centos.org/altarch/7/kern ... /Packages/

CentOS dev, Johnny Hughes, explains what it is in his post:

Re: Suggestions for desktop remote access

My favorite app is x2go. Although I have never tried that particular combination (Window client to Linux server), I think it would work. The RHEL/CentOS rpms should be available from EPEL.

Re: IBM R52 wifi not working with Centos 7.7

Yes, according to the device ID pairing, your device is supported by the ipw2200 driver. This is not in the CentOS kernel but you may want to try kernel-ml from ELRepo which has the driver enabled. You may also want to file a request to have the driver enabled in the CentOS plus kernel at http://bug...

Re: Kernel 4.18 on centos7.7

You cannot use a CentOS-8 package on a CentOS-7 system. If you really need the latest kernel, consider using kernel-ml from ELRepo. It is not officially supported by CentOS as you'd expect.
