I guess that is where I am confused - If I look in the Makefile in /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/kernel-2.6.9/linux-2.6.9 it shows an EXTRAVERSION of simply -prep and not the -11 as I had hoped. Also if I were to now repeat my same steps but this time for my 2.6.9-22.0.1 kernel so I have both to compare (so...

I am trying to get ready to build a new kernel so I can apply the Linux-abi patches. I am currently running the 2.6.9-22.0.1 kernel but also have the 2.6.9-11 kernel available and bootable.
