Re: CentOS 6 release??
For me it's bye bye centos. I've already switched my desktop to SL 6 and in the future I will use SL. As stated before by others security patches and point releases take longer and longeer. I really hope for things to change. For the DEV's many thks because i've used Centos about 7 years and i reall...

@AlanBartlett
THks for the update. My complaint(and i think it was the same for the majority of people) was for those 2-3 weeks when we knew nothing about the status. Good thing this is going to change.

@Adib
We dont request hourly updates or something. But 30 seconds for a twitter update every 2-3 days will be more than enough for the 99% of the guys waiting IMHO.

Re: CentOS 6 release??
@bluegroper I think you misunderstood. Except this secrecy regarding the status of the release i'm very happy with CentOS. Soon after the release of RHEL 6 KB said that we should expect 4-6 weeks until the realse of C6 and i dont know what caused the delay which frustrates me. On the other hand retu...

Re: CentOS 6 release??
I've been using CentOS for about 7 years now. I would love to say great job guys but this delay has left a bad taste in my mouth and I am getting frustrated like many other guys. For some linux guys you are very ilogical. How does a weekly update hurts (working on rebranding issues, had a problem wi...

Re: sun java installation - CentOS 5.2
I had a similar problem when i installed vuze. This is what helped me. [i][b]If you use RHEL v4 WS and you have already installed java (check using rpm -qa java*), then you need to remove all packages first to install the version from www.sun.com. To remove your installed java, take the output from ...
