Re: Unable to load Kernel module?

What does uname -a report? Also note the .debug in your directory name. Non-debug kernel modules would be in /lib/modules/2.6.32-696.16.1.el6.x86_64. Thanks, Avij! You are correct: The modules are not the correct version for the kernel that my VPS is running... [root@cp ~]# uname -r 4.9.68-x86_64-l...

Unable to load Kernel module?

Hello: The nf_conntrack_ftp module exists in the /lib/modules directory: [root@cp ~]# find /lib/modules/ -name 'nf*' | grep ftp /lib/modules/2.6.32-696.16.1.el6.x86_64.debug/kernel/net/netfilter/nf_conntrack_ftp.ko /lib/modules/2.6.32-696.16.1.el6.x86_64.debug/kernel/net/netfilter/nf_conntrack_tftp....

I might be experiencing the same problem: Despite there being several failed attempts logged in /var/log/secure... [root@li255-46 fail2ban]# grep 'Failed password' /var/log/secure | wc -l 25 ...fail2ban has taken no action: [root@li255-46 fail2ban]# cat /var/log/fail2ban.log 2015-12-15 21:57:08,909 ...

XEN: Replacing PyGrub with PvGrub?

The general consensus seems to be that PvGrub is more secure than PyGrub so I went about finding out if PvGrub is available for Xen4CentOS. Poking around, I found this: [root@xen-home untangle]# rpm -ql xen-runtime | grep -i grub /usr/bin/pygrub /usr/lib/xen/bin/pygrub /usr/lib/xen/boot/pv-grub-x86_...

Re: XEN: Using PCI Passthrough With HVM Guests

Looking into the host's kernel ring buffer , there are several messages related to the device. One, in particular, at the end of this block, stands out: pciback 0000:01:0a.0: seizing device pciback 0000:01:0a.1: seizing device ... xen_pciback: backend is vpci ... xen_pciback: vpci: 0000:01:0a.0: as...

XEN: Using PCI Passthrough With HVM Guests

After much consternation, I've successfully established PCI passthrough for a paravirtualized (PV) guest ( See here ). However, I'm not able to pass the same device (A dual-port, Gigabit NIC) to hardware-assisted (HVM) guests (after destroying the PV guest with control over the NIC). [root@xen-home ...

Re: [SOLVED] XEN: Using PCI Passthrough With PV Guests

A user on the IRC channel #xen pointed out that the kernel from the UV is broken and that got me to thinking: Unlike the PV guest, the kernel on the host is from the Xen4CentOS repository . So I added the Xen4CentOS repository to the guest; upgraded the kernel [using the kernel in the Xen4CentOS rep...

Re: XEN: Using PCI Passthrough With PV Guests

Looking inside the PV guest, it appears that there is no xen-pcifront kernel module in the guest's /lib/modules directory (and, therefore, no kernel module loaded in the PV guest kernel): [root@localhost ~]# uname -a Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.32-573.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Jul 23 15:44:03 UTC 2...

Re: XEN: Using PCI Passthrough With PV Guests

I've followed the directions to prepare a PCI device to be passed-through to a guest (i.e., a DomU) Taking another look at the directions to prepare a PCI device to be passed-through to a guest ... PV guests access the device via a kernel driver in the guest called xen-pcifront (pcifront in classic...

Re: XEN: Using PCI Ppassthrough With PV Guests

I've also checked the guest's kernel ringbuffer for clues but only found these tidbits: dmesg | less .... PCI: Fatal: No config space access function found ... PCI: System does not support PCI PCI: System does not support PCI ... XENBUS: Device with no driver: device/pci/0 ... PCI-DMA: Using softwa...
