Julian wrote: Firstly let me apologise because I'm a real newbie to Linux but I did search and try a few things before posting. I just installed 5.1 on an Asus M2NPV-VM Mobo (GeForce 6150 integrated GPU). Kudos to the dev team because the installation was very smooth (once I got round a few ...

Radeon X1300 problems

Well the latest ATI driver may not be the best choice, the one from Dag's site may be a bit of a problem also. You have not stated where you got the fgrlx driver or how you installed it. Please show the output from the typed command fglrxinfo Also as a reference, here's a copy of my xorg.conf...

Re: A Video Controller Journey

Glad to see you got a working xorg.conf file now, glad to help.

Re: Display dirver to HP compaq 6720s?

It looks like the rpmforge repo is disabled maybe, try yum install 915resolution --enablerepo=rpmforge

If that does not work is the rpmforge-release package installed?? rpm -qa rpmforge-release

Re: A Video Controller Journey

Maybe adding one more section to the xorg.conf file;
Section "ServerFlags" Option "AIGLX" "true" EndSection
Just as a check which xorg-x11-server packages are installed? $ rpm -qa 'xorg-x11-server*' | sort xorg-x11-server-sdk-1.1.1-48.26.el5_1.5.x86_64 xorg-x11-server-utils-7.1-4.fc6....

Re: X Server Install fails with yum

OK, this is going to be fun!!! First uninstall all the gstreamer and pidgin; rpm -e pidgin gstreamer gstreamer-tools gstreamer-plugins-base gstreamer-plugins-good Install the rpm package as per the workaround, then try the original yum installation command; yum groupinstall "X Window System" "GNOME ...

Re: X Server Install fails with yum

Please show which gstreamer packages you have installed; rpm -qa --qf="%{n}-%{v}-%{r}.%{arch}\n" 'gstreamer*' What happens when you type; rpm -e gstreamer --allmatches --test Please post the output instead of commenting on what happens or does not happen, for example;
$ rpm -e gstreamer --all...

Re: Help me to configure my NIC

I'm sorry my crystal ball is in the shop, I dropped last week so I have no idea which NIC you have :-D

Please inform us, the output from the typed command would be helpful; /sbin/lspci -v
