Kernel-3.10.0-693.2.2 split across separate /lib/modules

Hi, Just noticed that rpm -qi kernel-3.10.0-693.2.2.el7 Name : kernel Version : 3.10.0 Release : 693.2.2.el7 Architecture: x86_64 is split across two modules directories: du -sk /lib/modules/* 40940 /lib/modules/3.10.0-693.2.2.el7.x86_64 51676 /lib/modules/3.10.0-693.el7.x86_64 despite no evidence o...

Resume of `systemctl suspend` fails with soft lockup

Hi, Typical sequence of: # systemctl suspend followed by resume fails with NMI watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#25 stuck for 22s! [192.168.15.66-m:5513] where x.x.x.66 is the nfs server. This did not seem to be a problem prior to the last yum update to kernel: 3.10.0-693.2.2.el7.x86_64 and/or last k...

Re: CentOS 7 - kernel: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#3 stuck for 23s! [rcuos/1:19]

We're seeing similar issues on Centos 7. No problem on 6.8, but upgrading to 7 with the 3.10.0-514.6.1.el7.x86_64 kernel and nvidia driver 375.39 gives us seemingly identical behaviour, running directly on real hardware. I think this is a new kernel bug, or else something related to an nvidia drive...

Re: CentOS 6.4 can't launch softwares

Hi, I too have an NV Quadro 4000 in my shuttle running Centos 6.5 and I am wondering if you had previously been able to install the drivers directly from Nvidia's support website as I had been without having to resort to the kmod-nvidia from el.repo? When I had attempted to install the NVIDIA-Linux-...

Futex related application hang in Centos 4.2

Re: centos 4.2 suitable for XSI 5.0 (Softimage)?

I have identified the flaw leading to my hang and believe it to be a kernel bug in the futex system. The XSI process has an adjunct MainWin process that is hung in this futex. I shall be moving this thread to a forum that will address these core kernel issues: hkatz 18550 18483 13 23:48 pts/2 00:00:...

centos 4.2 suitable for XSI 5.0 (Softimage)?

Hello, As a drop in replacement for RH ES 4.0 I am trying to use centos 4.2 as the underylying O/S platform to run XSI 5.0 a popular high-end graphics modeling software product. Is my general assumption valid that 4.2 will serve as a drop in replacement for RHES 4.0? I have no problem with same exis...
