I don't want X-windows, but I need "development" and "editor

When u pick on development, there might be X dev lib and tools, that comes along, and to solve dep, it might install the X server packages, go in detailed selection and choose packages-packages of what u need.

ISO is an compressed format of all the files and stuff, and the boot image needed for booting the media, do not extract the file, and maybe as said it might be due to winrar only, direct burn ISO image, the option is supported under Nero..

use "iptables-save" it will save to the same file, no need to manually append the rules i.e /etc/sysconfig/iptables, a beter approch is to save the orginal file and then make changes to new one, in case u want to revert back... to make it auto-startup services use chkconfig --iptables on ( this get ...

Thank god, YUM have a small MAN page ;-) otherwise u might have blowed it right out of my screen,

make the answers to the point, just a two liner with "man yum" would have got the point across ....

just a quick update to all the ppl trying upgrades from old verison to newer one, del yr profile (mozilla dir in yr hme dir) and re-create the profle, upgrading over old profile does keep firefox crashing ...

do secure phpmyadmin with .htaccess, before running it, using VNC and X forwarding is ok, when its for trusted environment, the less apps u run and less ports u open to internet, the more sound sleep u have ;-) .. And i agree with above comments, Phpadmin is quite a good tool to use around,

do u have static IP or yr ISP leases the IP y DHCP, in case of staic IP check weather yr /etc/resolve.conf is set properly or not, main thing ping couple of std sites like yahoo.com and google.com and see if u r able to resolve the hostname fast, do turn on caching-only DNS, will improve yr hostname...
