I used the disk management tool on windows 8 to free up the hard disk space i wanted to use and that was the only extra partition created as i had planned to dual boot both windows 8 and then centos. I created the USB stick using fedora media writer. I also did free up 80GB space from the main windows drive and then left the remaining for the windows installation. I then created the various partitions manually and then created them as ext4 after selecting the partition i had carved out from the ...

I did the partitioning manually thats why i am shocked that i cant see it. The funny part is that when i use Gparted i see the partition but it shows up as UNALLOCATED
