Re: DNS MX record change
Thanks. I gather from that info that my second posting was correct. I need the trailing "." or it will append our DNS suffix to it.

Re: DNS MX record change
We have working SPF records. Changing it to the MS provided one is straight forward. Is the way I want to change the MX record accurate? If it is I will dig up a second record from them to have two if at all possible. Edit: In thinking about it I am guessing I am missing a trailing "." so that DNS d...

DNS MX record change
This is probably easy for some of you but I can't seem to find the answer. We are moving our email to Exchange Online soon and while they do provide the DNS entry we need to change to I can't figure out exactly how to change it. Our current BIND9 entries are: ; Mail Exchangers MX 10 mail ; Primary M...

Re: Logwatch return email address
Yeah, hostname was changed. After reboots it reports the correct hostname. When I just ran the "hostname" command it reports the new hostname. I am at a loss.

Logwatch return email address
This is probably an easy on that I can't seem to find nor can I find search results for it. We exported a CentOS8 VM to use as another, similar server and for the most part this works fine. However there's one little annoying thing that I can't find an answer to. When Logwatch sends out it's email t...

Re: Getting SSL to work on Apache
Thanks guys. mod_ssl-2.4.37-30.module_el8.3.0+561+97fdbbcc.x86_64 is already installed. SSL Does work. The site isn't pulling the proper cert. There is the line: SSLCertificateFile /etc/pki/tls/certs/localhost.crt in ssl.conf. I am going to comment that out to see what it does. The vhost in the site...

Getting SSL to work on Apache
We can't seem to get the SSL cert we've purchased to work on a CentOS 8.3.2011 and Apache (httpd-2.4.37-30.module_el8.3.0+561+97fdbbcc.x86_64). The admin of the server set up the virtual sites in the "sites-available" and "sites-enabled" subdirectories and it technically all works. When you go to th...

Re: FirewallD concern CentOS8.3.2011
Interestingly I received the same error with Rsyncd and removing that service allowance also removed the errors. Neither of these services have been setup on this server yet. Is that the possible problem? Is it possible these errors will disappear once these services are installed and started?

Re: FirewallD concern CentOS8.3.2011
Not sure what's wrong with smtp.xml. I'm not at all sure this server needs inbound SMTP so I am going to remove this line from public.xml. Here are the contents of smtp.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <service> <short>Mail (SMTP)</short> <description>This option allows incoming SMTP mail ...
