Re: brctl missing

Late reply for others that might be searching

I searched bridge-utils-1.6.tar.gz when I was trying to get brctl

I was able to compile it and use it just fine on CentOS8.1

Re: Block youtube.com

Also remember the latest Firefox is turning on DoH so will be bypassing all local DNS Settings !

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fi ... over-https

You may want to turn that Off.

Re: OpenVPN Suddenly not allowing all traffic

Have you enabled forwarding ?

$ sysctl net.ipv4.ip_forward
net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1

iptables -L -v -n should have counters to see if something is being dropped somewhere.

And is DNS set up correctly from VPN server ?

Re: Wine in CentOS

I have been playing with WINE a bit on CentOS8 and it seems to be fairly useless without the 32bit support. A whole lot of 64bit programs still use 32bit installers so cant even be installed. Even Microsoft's own 64bit MFC runtime installer is 32 bit so you cant even install really basic stuff like ...

Re: Centos7->Centos8 wifi functionality loss

Update and more trying various configs... Although the base Network Manager and latest hostapd (from source) do not seem to work. manually configuring the base wpa_suplicant seems to work and allows the use of 2 channels (44 & 149) in the 5Ghz band. Frequencies: * 5180 MHz [36] (20.0 dBm) (no IR) * ...

Re: get USB drive to show up in /proc/partions

Self answering.... There is a bug somewhere. If the system has a drive "stuck" in /proc/partitions that does not actually exist it will cause other drives to not show up. The system will detect and use new drives but they wont show up in /proc/partitions. If you can get rid of the non-existent drive...

get USB drive to show up in /proc/partions

How do I get a USB HD to show up in /proc/partitions ?

I plug it in and it get mounted by the current user and only they can see it.

I want all USB drives to be shared by all users like its always been before CentOS8.

Centos7->Centos8 wifi functionality loss

Between CentOS7 and CentOS8 the wifi system / ath9k driver seems to have lost the functionality to be put in 5Ghz(a) AP mode because something has changed the settings to say no-IR on all channels. This is shown on the same HW (PC-Engines APU) I just swapped the SD card from 7 to 8. You can see in t...
