Re: Questions / Help for a newbie

However, I can't open grub2.cfg, even with sudo permissions (but the files does exist): It's /boot/efi/EFI/centos/grub.cfg on your system. But knowing this won't help you either. The tutorial you linked is for CentOS 7. CentOS 8, however, uses blscfg , the boot menu entries are stored in the direct...

Re: Dompdf

Installation requirements , usage , and securing recommendations are all described on project's wiki. The names of PHP extensions on CentOS all start with php , so e.g. MBString , GD , OPcache listed among requirements would be packaged as php-mbstring , php-gd and php-opcache , respectively. If st...

Re: Interpreting NAMED log

There's a bit about logging statement in /etc/named.conf documentation, and a list of logging categories ( this is the raw .rst document). HTH. The query log entry first reports a client object identifier in @0x<hexadecimal-number> format. Next, it reports the client’s IP address and port number, an...

Re: Adding menu items

There's kmenuedit in EPEL. It's a KDE application however. And there's always the option of preparing .directory and .desktop files for your menu entries by hand and then installing them with xdg-desktop-menu . You'll probably need to consult the Desktop Menu Specification in this case, too. For sub...

Re: is there a package manager as yumex available?

@trazomtg Please open new topic, don't hijack this one.

@Lazlow Unfortunately, yumex-dnf seems not to be under active development anymore. For now, the only alternative in Fedora is dnfdragora, but reviews it is getting are not good.

Re: CentOS 8 application on the task bar

Probably not quite the same, but there's gnome-shell-extension-window-list in the AppStream repo. Besides, there's Window List Mod and maybe others on the GNOME Shell Extensions website.

Re: Installing LaTeX - what's the recommended way?

IIRC, the problem with rebuild is that it's just one big fat texlive.src.rpm (well, actually two of them: texlive and texlive-base) from which all the texlive-*.rpm binary packages get built. E.g. I just ended up installing texlive-a4wide from Fedora 28 on CentOS 8, because rebuilding it was unfeasi...

mock 2.0: excluded packages as best candidates

First, a little back story. Once upon a time, I had this problem trying to rebuild with mock packages that BuildRequire perl-generators . I worked this around by adding the following stanza to my ~/.config/mock.cfg config_opts['yum.conf'] += """ [main] best=0 """ Later I found out that there's a fix...

Just a wild guess. What's the value of cgi.fix_pathinfo in your php.ini?
