Re: Dealing with EPEL Conflicts
Well, I think I was able to narrow down the dependency chain here. The root of it seems to be the "katello-agent" package. After playing around a bit with `yum deplist`, I was able to put together the below list: 1. katello-agent.noarch 3.5.4-1.el7 depends on python-gofer-proton.noarch 2.12.5-3.el7 ...

Re: Dealing with EPEL Conflicts
So after typing everything out and looking at it again, I think I may see what a part of the problem is.. Is it that the system wants to upgrade "qpid-proton-c" from "0.14.0-2" to "0.35.0-1", so it wants to remove "qpid-proton-c-0.14.0-2.el7.x86_64", BUT package "python-qpid-proton-0.14.0-2.el7.x86_...

Dealing with EPEL Conflicts
Hi, I use Katello to manage the deployment of CentOS packages. I synced my repository with the upstream CentOS 7 and EPEL 7 repositories and I am now attempting to patch a system. Slow Disk I/O Performance with "sata_via" Module on CentOS7
I'm running into an issue with the "sata_via" module on CentOS7. I have a set of computers that have super high I/O latency when using this module. It is so bad that the system is pretty much unusable. However I have found that if I install CentOS8 and load the kmod-sata_via module from ELREPO, ever...

The Struggle with Graphical Environments Is Real
Hey all, This post is mostly a venting/ranting session for me.. My company has decided to make a switch to CentOS from a SUSE product, which I'm actually pretty excited about. Not only because I'm a fan of this distribution, but it is also giving me an opportunity to build what a cookie-cutter "serv...

Using CentOS In Large Enterprise
Hello, I'm very new to the CentOS community and what brings me here is an interest of utilizing CentOS as the Linux distribution of choice for our Linux end-points at my job. I am a systems engineer at a Fortune 500 company and my small team is responsible for around 7000 (very cookie cutter) Linux ...
