Re: Install language support

It depends a little on what you mean by installing italian. If you want the system language to be italian you can change that using /usr/bin/system-config-language which is part of system-config-language-1.4.0-9.el7.noarch . If there are italian quirks on the keyboard you can change its layout. Ther...

Re: Problems setting up openvpn client

Problem solved! Although selinux was satisfied by moving the certificates to ~/.cert openvpn was not. An examination of /var/log/messages showed that openvpn still expected the file tls.key to be found in the original location. A look at the connection file under /etc/NetworkManager/system-connectio...

Re: Problems setting up openvpn client

So now I created a local user and it still does not work. I get this: nmcli connection up Bahnhof Error: Connection activation failed: Unknown reason No problem saving the connection password, though, and the service is enabled: systemctl status openvpn@Bahnhof ● openvpn@Bahnhof.service - OpenVPN Ro...

Re: Problems setting up openvpn client

I have successfully solved the selinux problem by moving also the file tls.key to ~/.cert and running again restorecon -R -v ~/.cert so clearly the problem lies elsewhere now. I deleted the selinux alerts and didn't get a new one. Just wanted to confirm. I found this page: https://www.sbarjatiya.com...

Re: Problems setting up openvpn client

I'd start by moving it to the location it tells you is the recommneded place for it and then restorecon the file. I already did that and tried to say so but perhaps I didn't express myself clear enough. But be that as it may, the problem persists even if I turn selinux off which I also tried to say...

[Solved] Problems setting up openvpn client

To configure the connection I used sudo nmcli connection import type openvpn file /home/gostal/Downloads/vpn/Integrity_OpenVPN_v3/Bahnhof.ovpn and got confirmation: Connection 'Bahnhof' (a58b19a0-9537-45a3-912b-dc8b4e1eac40) successfully added. I opened nm-connection-editor and tried to edit the con...

[Work around] Where is qalculate-gtk?

In the epel repo you can find qalqulate. I assume this is the same software that you can find here: https://qalculate.github.io/index.html albeit an older version. Its' yum description says that graphical frontends are qalculate-gtk and qalculate-kde but these packages are well hidden. At least I ha...

Re: Mate screen lock issue

It turns out that changing displaymanager is indeed as simple as redirecting the symlink /etc/systemd/system/display-manager.service and reboot. I didn't do it this way, however. Instead I followed the advice here: https://www.centos.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=67166 and did (as root): systemctl disa...

Re: Mate screen lock issue

OK, I'll try redirecting the symlink and reboot then and see what happens.

Re: Mate screen lock issue

I believe you are right. Under /etc/systemd/system there is a symlink display-manager.service pointing to /usr/lib/systemd/system/gdm.service . There is also a /usr/lib/systemd/system/lightdm.service . Is switching as simple as redirecting the symlink and reboot? lightdm seems to be installed. I hav...
