Re: How do I prevent the system from updating to the 3.10.0-1062 kernel?

we can't POSSIBLY be the only people who's updated the kernel and noticed that it'll issue sig 15 to ssh. You aren't the only people to see this but you are the only person to mistakenly assign blame to the kernel. It's NOT a kernel bug. You need to update to the newer systemd packages that are in ...

Can I force MegaRAID SAS RAID HBA in IR mode to pass TRIM commands to SSDs in a RAID0 array?

Is there a way for me to force a MegaRAID SAS RAID HBA in IR mode to pass TRIM commands to SSDs in a RAID0 array?

Or do I HAVE to run it in IT mode to be able to do that?

Re: How do I prevent the system from updating to the 3.10.0-1062 kernel?

If you are getting 3.10.0-1062 and successfully install it then your system will no longer be on CentOS 7.6. Linux 3.10.0.1062.1.2.el7.x86_64 is the current kernel for CentOS 7.7.1908. CentOS stops all patching for a point release once it is marked end of life and moves everyone to the next point r...

Are you using NetworkManager?
To be honest -- I am not sure.

I've been editing the network-scripts file for the interface via /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts directly, so I'm not sure.

Re: How do I prevent the system from updating to the 3.10.0-1062 kernel?

P.S. The ONLY reason why I haven't upgrade to CentOS 7.7 is because the CAE/FEA/CFD/HPC softwares that I use has not been certified run on CentOS 7.7. If they are all certified to run on CentOS 7.7, then I'd switch over to that immediately. But because they haven't been certified on CentOS 7.7, and ...

Re: How do I prevent the system from updating to the 3.10.0-1062 kernel?

Explain more about the issue you think you've found. So I updated all of my slave nodes and my headnode of my very small cluster that's running CentOS 7.6.1810. After the initial install, I run an update, and it updates the kernel from whatever the default is that ships with that DVD ISO image to 3...

How do I prevent the system from updating to the 3.10.0-1062 kernel?

It would apparent that the latest update to the 3.10.0-1062 kernel in CentOS 7.6 will blip/temporarily/momentarily disconnect ALL network connections on the system. How would I prevent yum or packagekit from updating to that kernel version? Is there a way to blacklist that so that it WON'T update to...

Re: Latest CentOS 7.6 updates breaks ssh/sudo?

*edit*

It appears that the 3.10.0-1062 kernel has a bug or problem with it that it would change runlevels (even on the console/host system), it will blip the network connections and momentarily/temporarily disconnect ALL network connections.

Re: Mellanox network card help

I'm not sure about the older cards, but for me, with my Mellanox ConnectX-4 cards, the three things that I would look for are: First, does the card "POST" when your computer starts up? On my Mellanox ConnectX-4 cards, there is the FlexBoot BIOS that will show up on POST that will allow network booti...

Latest CentOS 7.6 updates breaks ssh/sudo?

So I ran the update in CentOS 7.6.1810 to update the system to the latest of everything (systems are remotely administered over ssh) and now whenever I use sudo, the ssh connection will drop. Anybody encounter this or might have some ideas in regards to why this is the observed behaviour following t...
