Re: Cannot run ls on the root directory
The problem solved itself.
I connected back to that computer this morning.
The problem was gone.
My theory is that the "cancelled" rsync still had something running, something was blocking ls from operating on /
Thanks much for responding.

GNOME 3 How to not display mounted drives on the desktop
I rebooted my CentOS 7 box, with the GNOME 3 default deskotp.
Now there are icons for mounted drives on the desktop
They weren't there before.
How do I make those icons go away, but keep the mountings?

How to debug the GNOME 3 desktop freezing
I'm using CentOS 7 and the GNOME 3 desktop. It is frequently freezing ( once every 2-3 days ). This is a problem as I am teleworking to it via WebVPN. Luckily other people in my orgs network can ssh into my box and restart the desktop. My org doesn't really have a Linux savy SA so I am going to have...

Re: How To Install More GNOME Extensions
Thanks for the feedback.
I'm on a system where I am obliged not to update the system version. I have to stay with the version of CentOS 7 I got.
