How can I join Centos8 to an NT4 Domain Controller

Note the question is not about an AD Domain controller. I have some instructions at https://documentation.clearos.com/content:en_us:kb_howtos_add_linux_workstation_to_the_samba_domain but they are for an old version Ubuntu. The pam config does not exist at all. At the same time, by default, Centos8 ...

Re: Help with rtl8812au WiFi driver in Centos 7.7

Just to round this off, I put in a request to ElRepo and they have kindly compiled the module as kmod-rtl8812au-5.3.4-1.el7_7.elrepo.x86_64.rpm. I hope people find it useful.

Re: Help with rtl8812au WiFi driver in Centos 7.7

Thanks for all your help. I'll have to own up a bit that I don't use Centos but a Centos based distro, ClearOS, and they claim to be binary compatible with Centos and (now) have switched to using the Centos kernel. The issue is that their /etc/redhat-release contains: ClearOS release 7.7.1 (Final) O...

Re: Help with rtl8812au WiFi driver in Centos 7.7

Mine was effectively the same. From my bash history:

Code: Select all

  990 cd /usr/src
  991 git clone https://github.com/cccooo/rtl8812au-centos-7.6.git rtl8812au-cccooo
  992 cd rtl8812au-cccooo/
  993 make

I use WinSCP to do the edit so it does not show in my history.

Re: Help with rtl8812au WiFi driver in Centos 7.7

No I changed the single line: REDHAT_VER := $(shell cut -f4 -d" " /etc/redhat-release |cut -d"." -f1,2 ) ifeq ($(REDHAT_VER), 7.7) EXTRA_CFLAGS += -DREDHAT_76 endif In case they are different, the most recent compile log: [root@7 rtl8812au-cccooo]# make make ARCH=x86_64 CROSS_COMPILE= -C /lib/module...

Re: Help with rtl8812au WiFi driver in Centos 7.7

The full make log is in the first post (but the error message points to a slightly different folder as I have renamed my folders to track all the different versions of the driver I have tried)

Re: Help with rtl8812au WiFi driver in Centos 7.7

Mine still fails:

Code: Select all

make[2]: *** [/usr/src/rtl8812au-cccooo/os_dep/linux/ioctl_cfg80211.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [_module_/usr/src/rtl8812au-cccooo] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/kernels/3.10.0-1062.1.2.el7.x86_64'
make: *** [modules] Error 2
I wonder if I am missing a dependency.

Re: CentOS 7.7 Due Out Soon?!?

There is a yum plugin on the ElRepo site which should stop yum failing when Centos and RHEL are out of step
