I checked it out on Youtube. It looks to be similar to Windows 7. Cool.

Re: Locked out by process using 100%
SOLVED. The solution was to switch from using Gnome to KDE. I opened System Monitor and kept it visible. Under Gnome, when the fan when on high, I watched until the screen froze and stopped updating System Monitor. Both memory and Swap never exceeded 75%, but both CPUs had flatlined at 100% for seve...

Re: Locked out by process using 100%
Errosion, generally I use this system for web-browsing, Chrome. Yesterday I came back into the room and the screen was locked because I had been gone over 15 minutes. The HD LED was continuous on, the fan was at max, and I couldn't log in. When it starts it ramps up then the mouse pointer gets jerky...

[SOLVED] Locked out by process using 100%
I have occasionally had this problem but it has happened twice this week. I have the most recent Centos 7 updates. The GUI and user input are frozen. Ctrl-Alt-F2 does not switch me to another console. The SSD hard disk light is on and the CPU fan is screaming. I do not believe it is the hard disk be...

Re: "Cable unplugged" after upgrade
My [10ec:8168] also hehaved strangely when I updated to 7.7 (from CR). But starting with the next day everything was ok again. Try to cold start your computer. :) Solved! I shutdown, unplugged the power for 20 seconds. Plugged it back in, rebooted into the latest kernel, networking came up no probl...

"Cable unplugged" after upgrade
I just applied upgrades and rebooted. There is no internet connection and the Network Tool says Cable Unplugged. Also the router LED for this cable connection is off. But I rebooted with the previous kernel and all works again. New kernel says cable is unplugged kernel-3.10.0-1062.1.1.el7.x86_64 Pre...

Re: Hostname changed but I didn't do it.
A simple test, reboot the machine with the network disconnected. The default localhost name is back. Between boot-up, something on the network saves my last hostname and sends it back to me. The cable modem? The ISP? Does it work this way for others?

gnuradio is without QT
Building gr-gsm failed because the Centos 7 gnuradio package lacks QT support. Can this package be updated with this? See this thread, second post down, "The gnuradio version in centos 7 is not too old (3.7.11-7) but unfortunately they do not distribute the Qt blocks that are used in grgsm_livemon ....

Hostname changed but I didn't do it.
A mysterious issue and possibly should be asked in security forum. I used KTorrent to download a live CD image for Debian. I then used that live CD for a day. When I logged back into Centos 7 the hostname command says "debian". The Internet says the permanent hostname is in /etc/hostname. My /etc/ho...
