Re: GeForce RTX 2070 / HDMI issues

Sorry can't help with the driver but I disable my screensaver with

Code: Select all

xset -dpms s off
If you must have a screensaver maybe a keyboard shortcut to the xrandr command used to set the 3 screens

Code: Select all

xrandr -q
will show your current setup and options.

Re: cpu usage

Code: Select all

watch -n.5 "cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep \"^[c]pu MHz\""
The -n.5 is every half a second
conky can also show an average instead of individual cores
Add these lines to your ~/.conkyrc

Code: Select all

cpu_avg_samples 4
top_cpu_separate no
change number of samples as desired

Re: installing Telegram

I'm not sure any of this will help make telegram run but some clean up is required. /home/mic/RoboDK-v2.5.0/bin/home/robodk/Qt/5.3/gcc_64/lib/libQt5Core.so.5 //installed but never used /home/mic/webots/lib/libQt5Core.so.5 //don't remember what it is If you don't use/need them, these need to go. Re: installing Telegram

How did this /usr/local/lib64/python3.6/site-packages/PyQt5/Qt/lib/libQt5Core.so.5 get there, I'm guessing via pip as root, the pip documentation advises to always use the --user flag, I'd remove it, with pip if installed with pip. Then run hash -r to reset the path/location of libQt5Core.so.5 I hav...

Re: installing Telegram

What does locate libQt5Core.so.5 show. Maybe a symbolic link to /var/lib/snapd/snap/telegram/xx/lib but as I said the snap should already contain everything it needs to run, odd. Edit: just checked my system (centos 7.9) and there is libQt5Core.so.5 in /var/lib/snapd/snap/kde-frameworks-5-core18/32/...

Re: Chirp Ham Radio Application

Hello I don't use that app but I suspect your issue is in trying to install a fedora rpm. Their download page has a flatpak https://trac.chirp.danplanet.com/chirp_daily/LATEST/ I'd install that. Never installed a flatpak outside of flathub repo, but I'm guessing it's the same flatpak install /path/t...

Re: [SOLVED - well, apparently not 100%] Some Youtube videos do not play on Centos 8

Chromium will not play h.264 video, there is chromium-freeworld (or something like that) available for fedora, I don't use CentOS 8 so not sure if it's been packaged for 8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qh9QwGSliAY is only available as mp4 (h264) youtube-dl -F https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qh9QwG...

Hello tracker if a file indexer for gnome, I don't use gnome but that didn't stop tracker running on my laptop, so did this. sudo yum install tracker-preferences tracker-preferences under "control" untick both boxes, under "indexing" untick everything and set "index content in the background" to "on...
