Re: since when do i need a Red Hat subscription?

Hmm, looks like a bit more wide-spread than i thought. it seems benign, and doesn't seem to stop me from using yum/dnf, so i may just ignore it.

Re: Just updated: no longer finds SWAP, drops to emergency mode

ok... cross your fingers. i installed and enabled elrepo, it found the updated kmod-megaraid_sas, and will install it WITH the update this time. being a minimal install, as long as it doesn't kill my /home drives, it can't really hurt much. it would take like 25 minutes to re-install, again, if need...

Re: Just updated: no longer finds SWAP, drops to emergency mode

just did a minimalist re-install. just network file sharing. my plan is to get away from the "all eggs in one basket" approach. i retained the /home as unformated, and will host the various services on other machines (to be bought, or older machines brought back to life), and just link to the data o...

Re: Just updated: no longer finds SWAP, drops to emergency mode

let me clarify, the recovery kernel works.

the megaraid_sas.ko module seems to be completely missing now. any way to load it in in recovery mode? dnf won't work, as there doesn't seem to be any network connection in recovery mode.

Re: Just updated: no longer finds SWAP, drops to emergency mode

just enabled the repos, re-ran update, and it pulled the new RAID card drivers. i will reboot, and report back, hopefully with success. :D

Re: Just updated: no longer finds SWAP, drops to emergency mode

...
ok, many thanks!, i forgot about that. it is booted, so now i just have to trace what went wrong. but it should be easier now that i am not in emergency mode.

Re: Just updated: no longer finds SWAP, drops to emergency mode

any thoughts or ideas? i think there were about 400+ packages that updated, so no telling exactly what one is the real issue. i would very much not like to re-install, but several things here depend on it, such as my VoIP/SIP phone system (for FTP provisioning), NTP for several devices, and 99% of m...
