What to do about "The server has no configured DNS resolvers"?

cPanel is sending e-mails to me with this message: --- The server has no configured DNS resolvers. There are no DNS resolvers configured on the system. Use the “Resolver Configuration” interface (https://server.accountname.net:2087/scripts2/setupresolvconf) to investigate or update the system’s D...

Re: Newbie looking for some overall perspective...

I have installed Webmin on my local machine while using these directions: http://doxfer.webmin.com/Webmin/Installation I was able to connect to Webmin while using a browser on the same machine, and then I did this: iptables-save > /tmp/tabsav vi /tmp/tabsav iptables-restore < /tmp/tabsav I received ...

Re: Newbie looking for some overall perspective...

I do not have Webmin, but your post led to my discovery of this: https://docs.stackstorm.com/install/index.html

I have installed CentOS on two of my own machines so I can try to learn how to get two systems communicating without risking destruction of my VPS.

Re: CentOS 6.8 install media failure (black screen)

Are there any guides on how to patch the drivers from a working 6.6 USB install into a (fresh) USB 6.8 image? ...and please keep in mind, I'm more accustomed to Windows, so I don't know where to find most of the CentOS tools, or permission levels I need to use them. Having said that I can easily lo...

Re: Newbie looking for perspective and opinion...

I have found some info for "Set up a Linux desktop with GNOME and VNC" -- https://www.godaddy.com/help/set-up-a-linux-desktop-with-gnome-and-vnc-6012 -- but I do not know whether that is a good idea or would actually be helpful. Overall and/or ultimately, I need/want to do these things: Add 'mcrafte...

Re: Newbie looking for some overall perspective...

If you really need GUI, look to: webmin. Some people use it for administration. But if you have cPanel, you have it. I do have cPanel, but no Webmin. From what I can see from some searching, people typically have one or the other rather than both. But I am not trying to be rid of using a console in...

Newbie looking for some overall perspective...

I understand CentOS is the core system running at my BlueHost VPS, and I understand WHM as being an overall manager for some of that and for certain other software at my hosting account. What I do not understand is why my VPS does not have a GUI for CentOS such as I was surprised to discover after h...

Re: How old are you? How long have you used CentOS?

Glad to see the "over 40" class is a majority here! I am 65 and I have probably been running CentOS while using shared hosting for the past four {4) years, but now I know it is CentOS doing the work at my upgraded-to-VPS account. Over these past couple of weeks I have used PuTTY for the first time e...
